My Favorite Vat19 Alcohol-Related Videos!

Vat19.com, “Purveyors of Curiously Awesome Gifts”, is one of my favorite online stores. They recently made a push to create videos for the majority of their product catalog. They did a GREAT job with putting together quality videos, with a very nice sense of humor (well, since I share the sense of humor, it must be cool).

Here are my favorite alcohol-related products with funny videos:

Beer Pouch Sweatshirt with Hood, $29.95

5-for-1 Big Bottom Giant Beer Glass, $11.95

Bottle of Wine Giant Glass, $11.95

Monster Margarita Glass, $16.95

Stealth Flasks! Clever Ways To Hide Your Booze.

There are just sometimes when you want a little nip of the good stuff, but partaking in public might not be the best idea.

Flasks have come a loooong way since those crazy Romans lit it up.

Thankfully, a number of very creative people have helped to solve this problem in a variety of ways over the years. Here are some of the cooler hidden flasks that have been made (but please point us all to even better ones in the comment section at the bottom of this post!):

Nothing like a bride with pride for her country and a way to satisfy her thirst even on the Big Day!  This sneaky girl was photographed at her wedding by photographer Lara Swanson, who specializes in nontraditional portrait photography.  (You might also be interested in seeing our shopping page for Flasks For Women on this site!)
The Cane Flask. The tool for a true gentleman.  It would be appalling if anything other than single malt scotch went into this fine cane.  By the way, for those who like history, the cane flask was invented by James E. Hale in 1888, and you can check out the patent filing here on Google Patents.

While this Cell Phone Flask may be at the cutting edge of booze-hiding technology right now, we’d better see an iPad Flask soon!

Cool, Flask Binoculars!. Bird watching just became a worthwhile hobby. Or, other “hobbies” get even weirder.

The Beer Belly Flask

If you’ve been to any other website that sells beer-related gifts, then you probably seen this Beerbelly booze holder already. You can’t deny the benefits this bad boy brings to tailgating and going to Jimmy Buffet concerts.

Oh Lord, don’t tell me they’ve corrupted The Good Book! On the other hand, who’s going to question a god-fearin’ man about what’s inside his “book”?

Reef Dram Sandal – the perfect way to bring some refreshment to the beach, or to any casual summer event.
Jumbo Stainless Steel Flask
Huh? What happened to stealth flasks? This
Jumbo Stainless Steel Flask
holds pleeeenttyyyy of booze, making it fun to share and instantly makes it a party.

After the passing of your winemaker grandfather, you leave the unfulfilling corporate world to take over his winery in the beautiful Italian countryside. Traveling the world, you collect recipes and supplies to turn your small family winery into a successful, international wine making enterprise. As you expand the business and become a world famous winemaker, you must collect the pieces of the Vino Ultimae blend, the finest wine in the world. If you can collect all 15 pieces of your grandfather’s secret blend and recreate the Vino Ultimae, you can bring the Guild back together and become the world’s greatest winemaker.

It turns out that wine making is all fun and games (three mini-games to be exact, which help increase efficiency and quality of production). 10 Messed Up Cocktail Names

There are thousands, upon thousands of cocktail names out there.  Many of them are quite creative.  Too many of them use various connotations of copulation and other acts.  I decided to keep this list of cocktails “clean” (whatever).  Here are some crazy, gross, and plain ‘ole disgusting names for cocktails:

Visual Cocktail Name Ingredients Preparation Instructions Reference
Monkey Gland

  • 30ml freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 dashes absinthe (for an English-style) or Benedictine (the American way)
  • 2 dashes home-made grenadine

Enpinyo & Cow Blood
  • Enpinyo
  • Cow blood (yep, you read it right)
Epinyo is a distilled African liquor, drunk by the Maasai (a nomadic indigenous group in Kenya and Tanzania).  Drink the enpinyo… and chase it with fresh cow’s blood.  Why?!? The cow’s blood is good for preventing a hangover. Credit

Put the absinthe and Jack Daniels into a double shot glass and drop into the half pint of Stella Artois beer. Credit

10 Delicious Meat Cocktails To Pre-Empt Your Hangover

I honestly had never, ever, considered the idea of a meat-flavored/meat-based cocktail before. Guess I shouldn’t have been surprised, because I had recently heard of bacon-flavored vodka.  Could these cocktails actually stop your hangover before it happens?  I know always crave meat and grease the morning after.

Well, I was ecstatic when I came across this list of 10 Recipes for Meat-Based Cocktails on Time.com (of all places)! Below I put my own spin on this list…

1. Swine Smash Key Ingredients: pancetta & mint
2. Breakfast Fizz Key Ingredients: pancetta & maple syrup
3. Bring Home the Bacon Key Ingredient: homemade bacon powder, beef bouillon granules, vodka
4. Wingin’ It Key Ingredients: chicken stock, carrot juice, tequila
5. The Butcher Key Ingredients: beef jerky, rum
6. The Spicy Meatball Key Ingredients: sausage-infused whiskey (make it yourself)
7. Irish Bacon Sour Key Ingredients: apple-bacon-infused whiskey, grade B maple syrup (why grade B?)
8. Smoky Sour Key Ingredients: bacon-infused cachaça, blackberry jam,
9. Leblon Cocktail de Praia da Carne Key Ingredients: chorizo-infused cachaça, grilled pineapple
10. Meat & Potato Martini Key Ingredients: Garnish with bacon that has been dredged in panko & deep fried, vodka, mezcal

Do you have a favorite meat cocktail that’s not listed here?

I am Gin!

I just took the “What Kind of Liquor Are You?” quiz at Answer Buddy, and here’s what I found out about myself…

My Result = Gin

I keep it stylish and classic. I don’t go in for the crazy trends. Even when I’ve had a few drinks, I’m as cool as a cucumber. Note, some Gin is actually made with cucumbers.
